COVID Fibre Projects
Some of our Guild Members are now finding time for projects that need to be completed or started. Rediscovering stashes of fibre waiting to be spun, dyed, felted, knitted, sewn or woven. Knitting needles, patterns, spinning wheels or looms beckoning now there is less to interfere with our creativity.
Grace - Ed's sweater. The pattern is Beagle by Norah Gaughan. The wool is from fibre I washed and blended with my drum carder. Costwold, Border Leicester, Corridale cross, blended with some BFL and Romney.
I have started knitting the first sleeve.
Laura - Just off the loom, cutting/serging in preparation for wet finishing. 16 shaft twill blocks, 2/16 cotton, 32 epi. Based on a design from an old German weaving manuscript.
Grace - Romney X locks that are flicked, butt and tip then put through the drum carder tip end first. The fibre is then dized off to produce a roving.

Margaret - I finally hit 2 full repeats on the Infinite Love scarf... only eleventy thousand more rows before both of *these* ones are done.
Margaret - One of the weaving projects is hanging from a screw above the back of my couch - the other is my progress shot on my Study Group warp. The last couple inches I mostly wove without looking...
Sue - I have decided to do some clearing by using things up. This is a (primitive) rectangular rag rug I started years ago. I work on one side then the other. I am about half done. No design really. Just flowing minor colours. The rugs look best after they are walked on for a while and they are compressed and the colours seem to meld.
Sue - I was supposed to make my sister a voyageur bear. Well, made a sash and might try to make a better one.
Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Kole Sluyter. Married April 18th with just their parents and grandparents as guests.
A granny rectangle blanket for the couch. 2 strand acrylic yarn randomly paired by Karen Richardson.
